Three days after the Song of victory over the Egyptians, the thirsty Israelites finally found an oasis, but its waters were bitter (marah) and undrinkable. Moses obeyed the LORD and threw a log (tree) and the waters of Marah became good (mathaq). The LORD declares, “I am the LORD, your Healer (Rapha).”
