1. Surrender to Christ
Our lives become meaningful when we surrender ourselves to Christ. “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (Gal 2:20). By God’s grace, I need to put my old sinful self to death, and live by faith in Jesus, who gave Himself for me.
2. Fruit of the Spirit
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Gal 5:22–23). As a believer, I think it is wonderful to have all these fruits in my Christian life. However, by my own strength, I cannot achieve them. I need to trust Him and believe His promises.
3. Seek Approval from God
“Am I now seeking the approval of men or of God? Or am I striving to please men?” (Gal 1:10). We should always seek to please God, not people. When we have God’s approval, there will be freedom and purpose in our walk with the Lord.
4. Christ can transform us
The change in Paul’s life shows the power of the Gospel. Paul used to persecute Christians, but he became a faithful follower of Christ. “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” (Gal 1:23–24). It is a powerful testimony that God can change anyone.
I pray that we will daily surrender ourselves to Him and focus on pleasing Him. Let us also thank Him for the power of the Gospel.
