Who is God? What is love?
The ultimate reality is God. He is Person. But for many, He is the “ultimate reality” or one of many other gods. God is love. Love is pragmatic. God demonstrated His agape love in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. How else would you know and experience that God is love without Jesus Christ coming from heaven to die on the Cross?
Paul said, “Preach Christ crucified” – “Christ crucified” is God’s wisdom and power to save (1Cor 1:18, 23). But it is foolishness to man. No human words can change a man’s stubborn heart. Only God can do the impossible. Our part is to connect to people and pray for God to work in their hearts.
I met a Thai who is very devout in Buddhism. To her, all ways lead to heaven and God has many names. Another Thai was willing to listen to the good news of Christ. May God grant him understanding and help him to believe.
Dear soul winners, despair not. Keep sowing the Gospel. God’s Spirit convicts and converts the proud and self-centred heart.
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (Jn 15:13). This Person is Jesus Christ. Jesus’ arms were stretched outward upon the cross. This shows the extent that He loves the world. He calls us His friends if we do what He commands us (Jn 15:14-15).
Why would a holy infinite all-wise God pay a great price to save miserly finite sinful beings? Rejoice in God’s great salvation. Nourish your souls with His Word. Abide in the Spirit. The space between humanity and divinity is infinite. Multiply your little joy of salvation by infinity -you will rejoice with joy, unspeakable and full of glory!
Angels rejoice over one sinner who repents!
