Tired of running after the things of the world that do not last? Tired of chasing after the latest trends, the latest fashions, and gadgets and finding yourself not able to reach them as they keep changing? Tired of trying to measure up to the world’s expectations and find that they are not what you had expected? Tired of trying to make friends with worldly people and still feel lonely? If you are, come to Jesus.
Jesus promises you rest as stated in Matthew 11:28-29 “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”. And in the next verse, He promises you that if you learn from Him, your burden will be light because He does not need you to have the latest fashion or gadgets.
Jesus does not need us to meet His standard and we can’t, because He is perfect. But He accepts and loves us just the way we are and the best part of it is that He will help us to reach His standard.
Jesus also promises us that He will never leave us alone. Deuteronomy 31:8“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”. And He also promises us that He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
So, if you are tired, weary, and lonely, come to Jesus. He is just a prayer away.
