Is Jesus Christ Your Mediator?

Job was a righteous man who suffered the loss of his possessions, his children, and his health. In his anguish, he cried:

There is no arbiter between us, who might lay his hand on us both.” (Job 9:33 ESV).

Job felt the vast distance between himself and God and longed for a mediator who could represent both parties. His longing is fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

The Bible declares:

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” (1 Timothy 2:5 ESV).

Why does every person need a mediator?

First, the gap between God and man is immense. God is holy, all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present. Man is finite, sinful, and unable to stand righteous before a holy God.

Second, the devil accuses, tempts, and deceives people, drawing them away from God and His truth.

Third, God created man for fellowship with Himself, but sin has broken that relationship. Left to ourselves, we cannot restore it.

I need Jesus Christ as my Mediator because He alone bridges the gap between God and me. As the Son of God who became man, He died for my sins, rose from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of God. Through Him I have access to the Father.

I need Him because He has defeated the devil and his works, and because He has restored me to fellowship with God through His sacrifice on the cross.

The question is: Is Jesus Christ your Mediator before a holy God?

If He is, are you living for Him or for yourself?

If He is not, consider the consequences of standing before God without the One whom He has appointed as the only Mediator. God offers reconciliation through His Son. Come to Jesus Christ in faith and receive forgiveness, peace with God, and eternal life.
