“Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker! For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts …” (Psalm 95:6-8).
Since December 2019, Covid-19 pandemic has overwhelmed the world. Countries and individuals have responded differently. Covid-19 is still mutating. Billions were spent wisely and unwisely. Some people have rioted against vaccinations and controls.
As we enter the year 2023, let us remember that God is sovereign whilst we must make right choices. As His sheep, we must resolve not to go astray. We must seek the LORD’s presence and feed on His living Word (Matthew 4:4).
True worship comes from the heart. Is my heart right before God?
What is your response to Jesus’ question, “Do you love Me more than these?”
John, the disciple whom Jesus loved said, “Little children, keep yourselves from idols” (1Jonn 5:21).
A personal prayer of commitment for 2023
May You, O God, Maker of the whole world, bless my heart, as I resolve to: (a) come into Your presence daily to worship You and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, (b) love You truly, (c) keep myself from all kinds of idols and (d) feed on Your living Word.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
