The Ministry of Intercession (9 Dec 2018)

1 Peter 2:5 ” You yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ”.

Every member of Jesus’ kingdom has a right to the priesthood. But not everyone exercises it. And yet it is the highest privilege of a child of God.

We are all caĺled into the work of the priesthood. Two sides to this work. Godward and manward! A priest is a man who does not live for himself. Similarly, a high calling for every believer. We are ministers and stewards of the grace of God.

We are also reminded that there is a walk of the priesthood. Not only separated from everything unclean, but holy unto God, being set apart and given up to God for His use. We seek to be perfect and wanting nothing (Eph 5:27, 2 Tim 3:17, Jas 1:4).

God needs priests who can draw close to Him, live in His presence , and by their  INTERCESSION draw down the blessings of His grace on others. And the world needs priests who will bear the burden of the perishing ones and intercede on their behalf.

Are we willing to offer ourselves for this work of INTERCESSION? Don’t be one of those who are content with being saved, just doing enough work to keep themselves warm and lively! Let nothing keep us from giving ourselves to be wholly and only priests of the most High God!

Under the work of the Holy Spirit, we have the assurance that all the wonderful promises of prayer in the Name of Jesus will be fulfilled.  Abiding in union with the Great High Priest,  “You shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” You will have power to pray effective prayer of the righteous man that accomplishes a great deal.

Come! Be a priest and have the priesthood of Christ. Walk before the Lord in the full consciousness that you have been set apart for the ministry of INTERCESSION.

Don’t wait further. Let’s commit ourselves to constant prayer. For self, for family, for loved ones, for kins, for friends, for small group, for church!
