The Lord’s Purpose Prevails

I believe that all of us learn many things about God in our daily walk with Him. I have learned many lessons and seen many amazing things God does in my day-to-day life, but one thing that has touched my heart and changed the way I should trust in God comes from how I saw things turn out during my mission trip to Poland.

During my time in Poland, the team leader of our ministry always reminded us of Proverbs 19:21 (NIV), which states: “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”. He reminded us of this verse because after planning for our program wholeheartedly every day, our plan often did not go the way we had wanted on the execution day. It is hard to give your all for something you hope for and find out later that it does not go the way you planned, but it is essential to remember that God has a plan and everything happens for a reason.

God uses every situation, good or bad, to glorify His name. It is up to us as believers to always give our all to Him and also let go of the way we want things to be because God has a plan. All we need to do is obey God, do our best and leave the rest to Him.
