Practising what we believe – The Holy Trinity

Do we believe in the Holy Trinity?  Three persons of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us to address God, “Our Father who is in heaven…”

God sits enthroned in the highest heavens. Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father.

During the extended time of COVID-19 pandemic and the fast spread of variants, notwithstanding vaccinations, people are fearful for their own lives, their loved ones, their social freedom and economic well-being.

We are comforted by the Triune God. By faith, we gather to pray for one another. In obedience, we assemble to partake of the Holy Communion. With humility, we read and study God’s Word to receive spiritual nourishment and instructions from the Holy Spirit. He is indwelling in us. As the third Person of the Godhead, He is our Paracletos (Comforter, Counsellor, Helper, Instructor, Intercessor).

Our weak or feeble prayers to God the Father are carried to the throne of the Almighty God by the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:26, 27). We are confident that God hears our prayers because we ask in the Name of our risen Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:14). We know our Lord Jesus also intercedes for each one of us (Hebrews 7:25),

Let us be filled with the Holy Spirit. Let us not grieve Him or quench Him. He will help us to walk in the light of Christ during the perilous times and gloomy days, especially during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic

In the Athanasian Creed named after Athanasius (293-373 A.D.), we have clear statements of the Doctrine of the Trinity.

See Athanasian Creed (A.D. 500), on the Trinity, divinity of Christ | carm.org

We will do well to read and meditate on all the statements in the Athanasian Creed.
