This is my first sharing for the BC Pastoral Column and I pray that my sharing can be an encouragement to others.
As I reflect on my life, I want to quote Psalm 100 as my thanksgiving to God.Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gate with thanksgiving and His court with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His loving kindness is everlasting.
And His faithfulness to generations.
I heard the gospel at age 18 back when I was a student in polytechnic.
It took 20 years before God softened my heart and I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour on 26 December 1999. God never gave up on me and He sent many people around me to be witnesses for Him.
I was baptised in BC on 18 December 2005 together with my late husband, Jimmy. Life was going on well for me until God suddenly took Jimmy home on 26 July 2009. He had suffered a heart attack while jogging at the park. His home-going left me helpless, hopeless, and in great pain.
Twelve years have passed, and God has been my Great Shepherd. He is my comforter and my strength. He has drawn me very close to him by calling me to serve in BSF and Sunday School Ministry. I have learnt to focus, trust and depend on Him. He has given me great joy in serving Him. I have experienced His goodness, love and faithfulness. I pray that I will continue to be the tiny spark for God in the world.
All glory to Him!
