Importance of Corporate Prayer Meetings (Also called Prayer Services)

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Prayer meetings are opportunities for people to come together and pray as a local church. We can connect with fellow believers and share in the experience (koinonia) of prayer. This can also pave the way for supporting and encouraging one another as well as building relationships with one another. Additionally, prayer meetings can help people to strengthen their faith and to grow spiritually. We can join Him in His work of redemption as we pray for those who are lost.

Our prayer meetings, scheduled every Wednesday at 8 pm, serve as a dedicated time for us to join in prayer. It is the time for us to intercede for our church ministries, offer support to our missionaries, uplift one another, etc in prayer.

While we understand that some of you may have unavoidable commitments such as work, appointments, or family obligations that prevent you from attending, it is essential to reflect on the importance of these prayer meetings.

Although our average attendance is usually less than 10% of our total congregational attendance, at least 70 members have attended at least once this year.

The early church was fervent in prayers. It was a church of Christian zeal and love. So such prayer gatherings reflect the spiritual health of our church.

We are praying that you endeavour to attend whenever possible. When you do with sincere hearts, we can experience God’s transformative power not only within our church but also in our individual lives.

Let us come together in unity, seek God fervently, and usher in a season of growth and blessings for Bethesda Chapel.
