Forgiveness

If we could forgive one another, the world would be a better place to live in. When we forgive, people will not get hurt and we will have healthier relationships. There will also be less anxiety, stress and hostility.

It is only in Christianity that we can have a better understanding of forgiveness. It is in God’s Word that we know of a God who will never leave His children or forsake them. He always remembers us and is ever ready to bless us. Whereas men may forsake their fellow men and may not remember the good things they have done.

Praise God that only Jesus is good. We should glorify Him because He sacrificed Himself to save us from all our sins. I am grateful that He has saved me, and I pray that He will help me to be faithful and to be a good model and an inspiration to others.

Jesus said that we must forgive and bear no malice towards those who offend us. Jesus set this example on the cross: “Father, forgive them …”  (Luke 23:34). While Jesus was falsely accused and suffering on the cross, He showed self-restraint, compassion, love and forgiveness. Although we do not have the goodness of Christ, we can learn from Him to show compassion, love and forgiveness.  Praise God that Jesus loves us and promises to be with us although we are unworthy of His love.

To get right with Jesus, we must always deal with our sins first. Then we can forgive like Jesus.

I pray that by His grace, we will be prepared to forgive others. If we do, God will forgive us. We have a Father who is always ready and willing to forgive, and will never hold grudges.

Let us “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32 ESV).
