A cheerful disposition, exercises, and eating a balanced diet can produce “happy” and “comfort” hormones in our bloodstream and neurotransmitters in our brain. Examples of “happy food” and “comfort food” are avocados, bananas, coffee, potatoes, congee, noodles, and bread.
Blessed are mothers who serve food to their children and meals to their family and friends. When you are served, do smile, and say, “Thank you!” This basic courtesy honours the one who serves you. God Himself gives us His words of comfort, cheer and hope. Thank God for His refreshing words!
With balanced food and drink, exercise, sound music, smiles, worship, and companionship, we will have a healthier mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.
Why? We all need the right kinds of nourishment at different stages of our lives. God’s words must be received regularly as they give us wisdom when we need them.
We need daily renewal by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Keep believing in Jesus, feed on God’s Word and exercise your faith by doing God’s will. These will build up spiritual soundness. Give priority to drinking of the water of spiritual life and the feeding of God’s Word.
We need to consciously “drink” of the presence of God. Cocktails and alcoholic drinks cannot satisfy weary souls. Only God can satisfy the thirsty soul (Psalm 42:2; 63:1).
Christ is our spiritual Bread from heaven. We show our love for Him when we feed on His living words of eternal life daily.
Jesus commanded that we do not work only for the food that perishes. On the contrary we are to work for the food that endures and leads to eternal life. That work is to believe and obey Him (John 6:27-29).
Thank God for spiritual food and drink for our souls!
Greet all mothers, fathers, children, and one another with a smile!
