Church Camp Reflection

“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5 ESV)

The above was the theme verse of our church camp RECONNECT in Batam last month. Below are my personal reflections on the following themes of the camp i.e. to reconnect with:

(i)  God’s Purpose For Us

Worshipping God and witnessing for Him is in the DNA of our Christian life. As we worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), we experience being in His presence. We are “walking bibles” in this world i.e. how we live our daily lives speaks and bears witness for Christ to the people that we interact with.

(ii) God’s People (Fellowship)

When we gather together in small groups, the Holy Spirit is in the midst of us (Matthew 18:20). During the camp, we learned to be mindful of the words that we say so that we can encourage one another and not put others down. In this manner, we edify and help to strengthen the body of Christ.

(iii) God’s Pattern For Bethesda Chapel (BC)

Our church has more than 60 years of history  till today with God’s blessings. Whether BC will continue to grow will depend on us as individuals to play our part i.e. to abide in Christ, trust Him by faith and bear fruit in our lives.

So let us play an active part to reconnect to God and His people and to grow in His purpose for us.
