Many people love Christmas, especially Christians as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas reminds us to be thankful for the love and hope we have in Jesus. He is our Saviour and Lord.
For this Christmas, I aspire to be different. By the grace of God, I desire to make these choices for the coming year.
1. Straining forward to what lies aheadI ask the Lord to help me “to forget what lies behind” (Philippians 3:13). When I leave former things behind, it will help me to have a clear mind, make good decisions and to be more proactive.
2. Serving Christ in my churchBy the grace of God, I aspire to continue to serve Him in Bethesda Chapel. “… If anyone serves me, the Father will honour him.” (John 12:26 ESV). The Lord will be pleased when every believer makes a choice to serve Him. When I serve Him, it will be an example and a testimony for others.
3. Getting involved in my community “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” (Winston Churchill). I ask the Lord to help me to mix well with people in the community where I live. “Live in harmony with one another. …” (Romans 12:16 ESV). When I spend time with people in my neighbourhood, I get opportunities to be their friend. We can talk and share, and as the Lord leads, I will share the good news or invite them to hear the Gospel.
I wish to thank our Lord for all His love and blessings. I thank Him that I can have joy in the Lord (Psalm 16:11). I thank the Lord for His divine presence and that I can always have rest in Him.
