Chinese New Year Reunion points to our Grand Reunion (18 Feb 2018)

  1. Chinese New Year (CNY) Reunion. Millions of Chinese in China and all over the world travel miles to be united with their families. At the Singapore-Johore custom, commuters take more than 3 hours to cross over from Singapore to Johore. Some of the 1.356 billion Chinese have started off on their holidays. Many families have had the reunion dinners in the ancestral villages or in the homes of the surviving patriarch, matriarch or the eldest son. Old debts must be cleared and quarrels be settled before the start of the Chinese New Year.
  2. The Grand Reunion. These reunion dinners point to the final Grand Reunion in the Heavenly Father’s house. In His house there will be more than enough rooms for everyone who believes (John 14:2). That day will a great day for “every family in heaven and on earth” (Eph 3:15). They do not have to travel and be caught in traffic jams. That is everyone who believes in the Creator God and everyone who believes in the Son of God, Jesus Christ (Heb 11:6, John 5:25; 17:3). God the Father will gather them home by His resurrection power. This same power raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him on the throne of the Father in the heavens.

One day we will meet all who believed in God. We will meet the pre-Flood and post-Flood believers. We will meet all who are members of the Bride of Christ. We will meet the Tribulation saints, the redeemed Israel and all the nations in the Millennium.

“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before the Only True God (Psalm 22:27).

All these are possible because of the great works of Jesus Christ. He obeyed the Father to die on the Cross so as to take upon Himself all the sins, iniquities and transgressions of mankind. Jesus is the perfect filial Son. He obeyed the Father’s will. He is also our Friend and Redeemer. His death on the Cross paid in full our personal moral and legal debts of sin (Col 2:14). He has also settled our petty quarrels with the Holy and Righteous God.

  1. See you again, next Reunion! We must emulate the example of Jesus by worshipping God the Father and by doing His will. We must be loving Jesus and obeying Him. We must be being filled with the Holy Spirit and be listening to Him. We must also be loving our family members and friends by our gracious speech and good deeds. We are to live godly lives as we carry on praying and inviting people to the coming Grand Reunion of The Heavenly Father (Luke 14:16).

We will have time in eternity to catch up with loved ones. After you have met a friend, you say, “See you again!” Have you left our Father’s invitation with him or her? So let us meet our family members and friends throughout this CNY and be His faithful children and servants, and really mean it when we say to them, “See you again! Next reunion!”
